Overview
Axalotls are a Species that developed from the Earth-indigenous Axalotls. They are larger then their earthly forefathers and have, through the centuries of evolution, achieved sentience.
Origins
As humanity ventured further into deep space and began to colonize alien planets, one fearless scientist became obsessed with the idea of taking a pair of axolotls for experimental purposes. These two amphibians, affectionately christened Adam and Eve by the scientist, survived the harsh conditions of space and successfully reproduced. This act of pioneering work was to lay the foundations for a new era of evolution.
Over time, the scientist was able to establish a small population of axolotls, which included both natural and laboratory-bred individuals. But what began as a simple scientific experiment turned out to be one of the most astonishing evolutionary developments the galaxy had ever seen.
The axolotls began to evolve. Under the influence of their new environment and their genetic adaptability, they began to change in many ways. They learned to walk upright, use their front limbs as if they were hands, and developed the ability to breathe both underwater and on land. When walking, they could achieve considerable speed on two legs, but on four legs they were much more nimble and agile, allowing them to adapt and survive in different environments. The evolution of the axolotl had created a new species that had crossed the bridge between land and water and was now able to explore the vast expanses of space. Their unique abilities made them a fascinating and valuable resource for galactic exploration and colonization. However, their existence also brought new challenges and dangers, as unknown threats lurked in the unexplored depths of space, which these unusual beings had to face.
