Dr. Marlow is a leading Expert in the Field of High Energy Particles and was a founding Member of the Arcturus Space Station. She did pioneer work in experimenting with Zero Point Energy until the Cataclysm.

Research on the Arcturus Space Station
After the Cataclysm
Scarred by the Cataclysm, Dr. Marlow was no longer able to survive without major life support and mechanical replacements of several organs and limbs. The injuries went so deep as to negate the innate healing abilities of the Ambysapiens. In order to facilitate this and still be able to continue her work she build a Cyborg-like Exoskeleton.
When S.A.R.A., corrupted by the Cataclysm, started to search for the missing parts of Dr. Marlows work, she decided to oppose her. In order to do so more effectively however, she chose to not reveal her identity to the AI. Through the following year of conflict she became known as 'Echo of Marlow', which she adopted.
After some years of conflict, through which she and S.A.R.A. had maneuvered themselves into a stalemate, they both recognized that one of them could only achieve victory be bringing new factors into the equation. However, since Dr. Marlow also knew that even with a stalemate S.A.R.A. would not be able to gain the missing parts of her research, including the ZPM, she did all she could to hinder her opponent on contacting and bringing in others to the point to even destroy the Stations long-range Communications-Array, cutting herself of from the rest of the universe as well. Since the Colony on Rucotov Prime had been voided of life though the Cataclysm, there was no one in range.
Knowing that some day S.A.R.A. would succeed in bringing outsiders onto the station Dr. Marlow prepared a serious of Holo-Logs, that would be shown to the outsiders. She hoped to be able to show them what happened and what they needed to find - and protect from the corrupted AI.
